About this ride
Tirana is a bright, energetic capital full of colourful buildings, busy cafes and a growing food scene. Getting there by public transport can take a long time, so a private car is by far the most comfortable way to go.
The road passes Tetovo and Gostivar, then crosses into Albania near Lake Ohrid before winding down through the mountains to the capital. It is one of the most dramatic drives in the Balkans, and there are plenty of great spots for a break on the way.
